What a carry on right now with this support England in the world cup.
For readers who don't know what I'm talking about Scotland and England have a very old history where they have been rivals and against each other dating back to the 1100s mostly wars and shit like like that.
England has always been the greater nation having a say in our day to day running. Most things we watch on TV comes from England. Things are getting better as Scotland as a nation has our own parliament now and we do our own thing now. Most of our laws are better over England and we lead by example.
A lot of people down south say that Scotland should support England in the world cup. Celebrities and politicians have all had their say.
Our first minister, Jack McConnell said that he wont be supporting England but changed his mind when Tony Blair started making comments. Scottish Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown said he's support England. Fud, why?
What is wrong with not wanting your rival to do well, its a natural thing to want.
Scotland tennis star Andy Murray has received hate mail on his website for failing to support England at the World Cup.
First Minister Jack McConnell was criticised for not cheering on the auld enemy as the World Cup re-ignited debate on national identity.
Should other British nations be expected to support England
England plays Portugal today and I hope England get right and truly humped! People will say supporting whoever plays England is a stupid attitude, but I don't agree.
I'll be watching it in a very busy pub and I can assure you that the cheers will out do any English pub when it comes to cheering.
Scots aren't English and therefore shouldn't be expected to support England any more than they should be expected to support any other country.
History might be history but history doesn't always die.
